    Any NEW JERSEY County, State Or Fed C/O's In The Building??

    Im new to this C/O job, so far its cool and still debating should I make this a career. One reason I joined the Federal C/O was because I heard if you are mobile you can and will get promoted faster. Since I dont mind traveling and especially since I have no kids and Im not married. I have nothing holding me back on quick decision moves in my life. On the other hand Ive been looking into the marshals, my personal decision was stay in the B.O.P for a couple years preferably 2 1/2 to 3 and than switch agencies. I know it isnt going be easy didnt figure it would, but hey Im straight out the military so I can handle whats in store, been their done that (challenges that is). So if you dont mind I would like to hear your opinions on how you like your C/O career postive or negative outputs.

    Welcome to the forum and the job, but you may want to work on your English. It may be a new lingo, and there are many who are able to get into the BOP, but you may have to "smart it up" to get in the door with the Marshals. Words like "dat" (and I won't continue to list them, but there are many interesting ones you've used in your posts in the last day) probably won't fly. Maybe it's just what you do when you're not working, but we are kind of set in our ways around here. We don't want to have to feel like we are speaking to an inmate when we are not at work.
    This job does pay well, and the moves are great. It isn't hard to move with a family, just gets a little more interesting. And if the family is accustomed to moving from the get-go, I would suspect it is no different than Military families.

    Marshals hiring windows are few and far between. It's not unusual for them to go 5 years without hiring anyone. They're the smallest LE agency in the DoJ, so don't hold your breath.

    Don't expect to get many of us supporting your view.

    You may ask any question you want. You may comment on any subject you want, but we get to answer in the manner we wish.

    We really don't care if you didn't join this site to be criticized. You will get the respect you deserve, that which you earn. You come on here and talk smack about this just being a stepping stone , about being promoted in 21/2 or 3 yrs, and it not SOMETHING you want to do for the rest of your live.....................you probably are going to get criticized by the group of people on here who have made it a career and are proud of that career.

    Typing in all caps doesn't work on here......as you see it just make you look stupid by capitalizing every word.

    Being rude to senior members that are trying to help you learn our informal rules isn't going to endear you to the membership either.

    Also it might be of interest to you that should you ever try to move into an 1811 job, they will ask for your log in names to any internet forum you belong or HAVE BELONGED TO IN THE PAST. The BI investigator will browse and find your postings and it WILL be noted in your BI. Being rude is not looked upon fondly by investigators.

    As far as you coming this far in life not being a statistic (what ever that means) .............right now as far as we are concerned you are a rookie Correctional Officer on probation ..................nothing more, nothing less. You will be judged by your peers, many of us who have more time sitting on the Camode in a prison than you have time on the job.

    Enjoy your stay.

    Preserving for future reference

    I have a funny feeling your career will be a short one. I care less what you think. And like I stated before YOU dont' get to dictate to what thread I respond nor do you get to dictate how I respond to those threads.

    Because you are a "disabled veteran" we are supposed to back down and let you walk all over us...................not going to happen buddy.

    You have no idea what my background is.You have no idea what I have accomplished in my life, nor in my service to my country. Nor do I have any idea of what your background is. I am basing my reactions to you by the way you act and the way you react to constructive criticizm.

    You act like a convict.

    Therefore you will get talked to like a convict. If YOU don't like it.............dont' let the door hit you in the arse on the way out.

    Since you brought it up. Thank you for your service.

    Since you brought it up, there are veteran's who deserve a "pass" every once in a while.

    Here is one, he passed away this week. People write about how he was the most unasuming person they have ever encountered.

    Robert L. Howard Tribute Website

    This site is dedicated to Robert L. Howard, one of America's most decorated soldiers. He served five tours in Vietnam and is the only soldier in our nation's history to be nominated for the Congressional Medal of Honor three times for three separate actions within a thirteen month period. Although it can only be awarded once to an individual, men who served with him said he deserved all three. He received a direct appointment from Master Sergeant to 1st Lieutenant in 1969, and was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Richard M. Nixon at the White House in 1971. His other awards for valor include the Distinguished Service Cross - our nation's second highest award, the Silver Star - the third highest award, and numerous lesser decorations including eight Purple Hearts. He received his decorations for valor for actions while serving as an NCO (Sergeant First Class).

    I highly doubt he ever disrespected anyone , and I highbly doubt that he ever played the "disabled veteran's card". If anyone deserved to play that card Colonel Howard was that person. In his 70's and suffering from cancer, he traveled to Iraq to give morale boosts to the troops.

    So BITE ME

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    now lets check your proper vocabulary hmmmmm i see alot of things that dont make sense
    1. 21/2 or 3yrs--- you meant 2 1/2 not (21/2)
    2. and it not SOMETHING --- you meant (its not it)
    3. to do for the rest of your live --- you meant (life not live)
    4. you probably are going to get criticized -- you meant( your probably going to get criticized)

    Second QUOTE=Iowa #1603;

    1. the way you act and the way you react to constructive criticizm-- u meant (criticism not criticizm)
    2. how he was the most unasuming person----u meant (unassuming not unasuming)
    3. and I highbly doubt that --u meant ( highly not highbly)

    QUOTE=Iowa #1603

    so im assuming all this info above makes you look stupid!!!!!
