So Sedgwick county lost two of our inmates so far this month. One guy was out to court and they freaking bonded him out. That was on July 1, they didn't bother to call us until July 9. So he was probably in TJ doing lines of coke off a hooker's ass by the time they let us know they f'ed up.

The very next day, Wichita Work Release called and said a guy walked off the job and they don't know where he is.

It doesn't surprise me, Sedgwick county is always releasing the wrong person. Heck they almost released Dennis Rader, and it's pretty common for a inmate to walk away from a work release facility. Difference is we go after our inmates at Hutch, Wichita work release only puts out a warrant for them.

Has anyone heard wether we are still getting our increase next july, I've seen that the other two groups have gotten theirs, and last I checked we are in the next group for physcal year 2011.

I Haven't heard anything, the state budget for 2011 hasn't been passed yet, but I will talk tao the KOSE Rep and see what they say.

Anyone else see the report that Kansas jails are now complaining about being overcrowded? I'm thinking we may see a spike in new inmates soon.

Its that time of year again when we negotiate a new contract. I am not a steward or representative from KOSE, I am just a normal member. I will try to keep you updated on what I hear. Last night and this morning there are and were meetings in Hutchinson to discuss what should be negotiated, however I was not able to attend, but I will speak to my steward today and find out as much as I can.

Whats up guys! I am new to the scene. Just got done with training, and started working my post. I work at TCF. Not much goes on there. Lots of mental/con games. Little bit of violence but not much. Would prefer to work with men, however, I will take what I can get.
