    Geo Group Prison Officials Investigating "Incident" at One of their Big Spring Facilities 11/9/10

    Officials at the Geo Group are investigating a shooting that took place at one of their Big Spring prison facilities.

    Geo Group would not comment on what happened, nor would the Bureau of Prisons in Washington D.C., but Big Spring Fire Deputy Chief David Armstrong say an inmate was accidentally shot in the arm around 1130 Tuesday morning at the Flightline Facility, which is just south of the airport.
    The inmate suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, but Armstrong say the injuries were minor and came from a 12 gauge weapon.

    What provoked the shooting or better details on what happened are unknown at this time.

    Geo Group, formally known as Cornell Corrections, runs several prison facilities in Big Spring, including Flightline, and houses mostly drug and immigration prisoners.

      No explanation just do what you want shoot who you like ?
      Prisoners can be dealt with any way you dogs see fit ? ?
      The world is watching America & Texas in Particular shaking their heads in disbelief ? America the land of the free and liberty ?

      Once again I have to set a banned user straight for the rest of the public that views this site.
      This article was posted by a Correctional worker. The article gives no details other than an inmate was shot. No life was taken, he was shot in the arm. And this Brainiac was the first to respond to the article. Most of us that work in the correctional filed want more details than were supplied by this small article.

      I don't understand some people. I completely agree with Tuffellhund, there is not enough information on what actually happened. I was shocked at the first post. Of course some people have a right to take a life. It could be self defense in protecting your own life, or your families, or your property. It could be as a law enforcment officer doing what is necesary to protect the public. I seriously doubt that anyone wants or likes to use deadly force or they would probably be behind bars, however sometimes in certain situations it is necasary.

      I agree with you 100% john. Funny thing is, the person from the first post will have no problem calling the police when he needs help! Then he will go behind that officers back and criticize the job that he did. Its too bad we all give everything every day and we get this kind of trap running on a constant basis!
