Okla. Death Row Imates Protest New Execution Drug

If it is good enough to euthanize animals.................its good enough for me.



I have watched several of my pets euthanized. All seemed to go peacefully & without pain or suffering.

To easy, I say fry them!

Actually, Oklahoma has a law that if lethal injection is found unconsitutional they go back to the electric chair, if that is found to be unconstiutional, then they will use the firing squad.

Think hanging is still on the books.. Wish I could find the quote from the Oklahoma Judge that stated, when the hold on Lethal Injection was going on with the deal in Florida, that if they think that Lethal Injection is "Unconstitutional, Oklahomans would be glad to find the nearest tree and let them dangle." (Not an exact quote.. but was similar)

I just rented and watched that movie "You Don't Know Jack" -- about Jack Kevorkian, which makes this thread all the more interesting to me.

The injection is supposed to be 'death with dignity'.....a medical service... I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. Maybe they should air the
movie on death row....would that be cruel and unusual punishment? Or just ..insensitive and sick? Hhhmmm If I were a Rec Spec at a...I guess I'd have to
survey the death row inmates and ask them..

Don't the Russians just open the book pass in the middle of the night and give them a .45 to the head?

Look at all the comments from PRISON WORKERS ? What chance does the public have with a person once you guys have finished with him ? Half the reason they come back is because of the damage done by the POLICE-COURTS-and finally the prison system & PRISON GUARDS !!!!

My bet is "screw killer" is too weak to stand up face to face with people and has to use online to voice opinions. Either that or he/she is a member of prisonlove.com. Would explain alot me thinks

I know this person has been banned already but lets use a little logic to address this. We work in prisons following the laws of the jurisdictions in which we work. We are not the law makers, we are the ones that enforce the laws, the way they are written or interpreted by the courts. Those that are entrusted to our care are there because they made the choice to violate the law, some of which carry the maximum penalty of death. We as Correctional Officers do not make the choice that sends them to death row, we are not the ones that administer the chemicals, we are not the ones that pull the lever that sends the electricity, we do not pull the lever that drops the pill into the acid that produces lethal gas. These are the three most common methods used in the last century. We do not take lives unless we are trying to protect our selves, others or the public in general.
Most jurisdictions that still practice the death penalty do so because a majority of the people in that jurisdiction feel there is a need to. If a majority were against it the death penalty would only be read about in history books. Here are a few facts for those that argue against the death penalty, 35 states out of 50 still have the punishment on the books, last time I checked that was a majority. The Federal Government and the Military still practice the death penalty, for a total of 37 jurisdictions. From 1976 until December 17, 2010 the united States has executed 1234 criminals. Want to compare that with one of the great communist nations, like say China? They executed 1010 in 2006, the last year that Amnesty International was given documentation by the Chinese. America does not even count as one of the three largest execution regions according to Amnesty Internationals website, those regions are Asia, Middle East, and North Africa.
So let the world watch the USA, the last time I checked we never sent tanks into a square to stop unarmed college students from protesting, and we never had tanks fire on or legislative body's building. Everyone on death row has plenty of chances to change their sentence, or prove their innocence, some do The Innocence Project has freed over 200 people from death row. I am not saying our system is perfect, but I will entrust my life to it over any other in the world in a heart beat.

The protesting inmates should stage a mass die-in -- for real.

Oh BooHoo. If you are on death row, did you actually show your victims any mercy? Give me a break. The whole deal makes me sick. They should just turn them out in a field and shoot 'em like an amusement park. I am sick and tired of convicts being given more rights than all of us schmucks out here TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING. Maybe they can use their new cells phones to call their Momma and tell them how awful being in prison is. Jeez. Oh, yea, and Happy New Year!!!!
