  • Hep-C/Please Change The Stains

    Today during ART one of our nurses told us that of 13 Hep-C positive inmates that she was recently taking lab samples from, only 3 of them had Hep-C when they arrived at the institution. All of them had fresh tattoos.

    And we have a POS lieutenant who shreds officers' incident reports for tattooing--even the 100 series possession of hazardous tool charge that he has no authority to dispose of.

    The restrooms in our training center haven't been cleaned in months. Cleaning them would likely interfere with some Camper's evening TV programs, Jack Daniels drinking, or telephone calls on his smuggled cellphone. Several staff filled out evaluation forms requesting that the piss & **** stains in the staff training center restrooms be changed at least monthly. I'm going to try and track this and see how often, if ever, the piss & **** stains get changed in the staff training center restrooms.

      If your restrooms are nasty outside the secure perimeter, take some photos to get developed and mail to Central/Regional Office. It will be fixed.

      So, mental note: don't get tats in prison. Also, try not to use the bathroom in prison. Have someone send a bathroom from home...

      If you'all would quit pissing on the floor it wouldn't be so nasty! You piss there, why don't you clean it up? I bet the campers bathroom where they piss is clean.

      The fact the bathrooms are not getting cleaned sounds like there is a lot more going on, like may be some dirty staff allowing the inmates to do whatever they want. Low staff morale, and the inmates run the joint. Definitely needs to be looked into.

      I haven't had ART yet so I can't comment on our bathrooms. I do work out at the training center daily although I can't access the ART area. (cause I'm not trustworthy)But federal prisoners can go there unsupervised. I think it falls back to 'more with less'. You have someone doing a job and the training builing gets thrown in their lap for collateral duty.

      The inmates do run the joint. Have for decades from what I've heard. But, someone's got to run it. The duly appointed authorities aren't capable of running it.

      What are the chances you could get a camera from the inside that is intended for official use and use it to send some photos to the warden or AW? Anonimously of course.
