So, first off I live in 'Tornado Alley' and have pretty much all of my life. These types of storms are not new to me. So, this morning, 2-29-2012, we have a few tornadoes in the area. At the joint, you would think we had the announcement of the 'Second Coming' or something. After, mainline anyway.

I can understand taking the precautions of locking down or little to no movement, but to let these guys travel all over, breakfast, mail room, education, then have a recall PLUS an emergency ...

Well, it's that time again. It seems it's always around anymore. That's right kids, time to cast your vote. I'm not speaking of the 'bigwigs' that are going for the leadership of this great nation. Nope, it's the local election stuff.

Now, we got our state and local (community leaders) running here. I'm sure it's the same in other places. You got this guy running for that office on the Democratic ticket and for the Republican side, it's that guy. All of this is good and well. My beef? ...

So, I'm sitting on M/W, bored outta my mind. Let's see, for starters, I go and trade with a guy who needs to work his days off so he can have my days off. Hence, I'm working midnites. No big whoop! I am contemplating going to Mornings if a few quarters anyway, but the Capt has put out 3 year rotation email BS, just like the others have. IT DOESN'T WORK! Why can't these people see that?

Anyway, so I'm down in a 'new pod'. The radio station for the FM & AM type don't play too well. ...

People often ask me why I work for a private corrections company and not the BOP or state DOC. I was offered a job with the BOP after I applied and ended up turning down the conditional offer. I have thought about working for my state and a neighboring state's DOC but have always decided not to do so. Yes I would make more money if I worked for the government. Yes, my life would likely be better due to having fewer staffing problems. Yes I'd be covered by LEOSA. Yes I would make more money. Yet ...

So, if you read my blog posts, you know that ART in the BOP is going on. I have been here for a dozen years and the same thing has taken place for all 12 of those years, people start working out for a stinking week!

That's right. I gotta go to the Training Center anyway might as well work out. The mindset for this is good. But, the intent on doing it is just not there for most of them if not all.
